Paths Repaired Across Muir Of Ord (Autumn 2011) - Now Completed

posted 5 Dec 2011 15:05 by Jem Taylor   [ updated 5 Dec 2011 15:06 ]
Several sections of Path have been repaired and reinstated around the natural spaces of Muir Of Ord.

Highland Council have used a contractor to replace the complete boardwalk in the Lily Loch. This gave the Environment Group the opportunity to  reuse some of the removed wood - to repair the Walkway around the Curling Pond (or School Lochan).

Over two work days in September and October - sections of walkway were removed and installed to replace the broken walkway. Individual boards were taken out and replaced - supports replaced and Chicken wire covering (to prevent slipping) replaced.

Work was supervised by Phil Waite (Highland Council Access Officer) and carried out by memebrs of Inverness Ramblers, MoOEG and the Jogging group along with other individuals.

Many thanks to all who helped.

Anyone who hasn't visited the walkways - the Autumn is a great time to visit - the "drop" and the backdrop of Autumn coliurs is at its best just now. Please enjoy the walkways - and the Lochans.
